College and University Presentations
Each school year, local college and universities come to North Addington to present information. Please watch the Student Services bulletin board in the New Foyer to see upcoming events. Senior students also have the opportunity to attend College Information Day (CIP) and University Information Day (UIP) in October. These trips are open to all Senior students and are free. Watch for permission forms in late September.
Scholarship Information
North Addington is very fortunate to have a very generous local community who donate many scholarships, awards and bursaries to our graduating students. Scholarships are described in the Scholarship Information Booklet. For more information, download the booklet or make an appointment at Student Services.
Community Involvment Requirement
Don't forget about the Community Involvement requirement for graduation. All students must complete at least 40 hours of community involvement
Commencement 2017
Graduating students have many questions about Commencement. Below is some information for graduating students as they prepare for the ceremony.
-
Commencement begins at 7:00 pm.
-
We ask that graduates arrive by 6:30 pm in order to pick up gowns and have a group photo taken. Gowns are available in the staff room (someone will be there to assist you). After you get your gown, please proceed to the Old Foyer where gradutes will be gathered to take a group photo on the front steps. The photo will be taken at approximately 6:40 pm.
-
After the group photo, graduates are asked to assemble in the Old Gym. There graduates, staff and community presenters will be organized into he processional.
-
Graduates will line up in the processional alphabetically in two lines.
-
Graduates will follow presenters and staff into the New Gym. The line will split as we walk up the main aisle and two lines will enter the stage from the stairs on their respective sides.
-
Graduates will sit on the the stage.
-
In the presentation of the diplomas, graduates will be called up alphabetically. Graduates are asked to come forward, shake hands of the presenters and wait while a brief citation is read about them. A photo will be taken (please stand on the "X"). Once this is finished, the audience will applaud and you can be seated. Parents and other guests are also encouraged to take pictures at this time.
