GRADE 9 ORIENTATION 2016

Welcome to the Class of 2020!  New Grade 9 Students will take part in three different workshops:  goal setting in high school, getting involved, and differences between Grade 8 and 9.  We can't wait to see all of you on Tuesday!

February 17, 2016

GRADE 8 PARENTS' NIGHT

This year’s Grade 8 Parent’s Night will take place on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at North Addington Education Centre.  There will be a formal presentation about the high school program including courses offered, opportunities for students, and high school graduation requirements, as well as a school tour and demonstrations from various programs in our school.  Dinner for parents and students will be provided beginning at 6:00 pm with presentations and a tour commencing after.  Parents will also receive a package of information that provides further details regarding your child’s high school program.  I  encourage you to write down any questions you have and bring them to the presentation.  Both parents and Grade 8 students are invited to attend this evening.  Don’t forget to RSVP to the school at either 613-336-8991 or yanchr@limestone.on.ca or you can send a note to your child’s Grade 8 teacher

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

TASTE OF THE ARTS

Grades 7-8 students will be taking part in a Taste of the Arts program where students will preview programs in VIsual Art, Drama, and Music.

TASTE OF THE TRADES

Students in Grades 7-8 are taking part in a Taste of the Trades event where students will be previewing courses and activities in Graphic Design, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Construction, and Transportation Technology.

COURSE SELECTION INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS

Grade 8 students will meet with Guidance Teacher to go over course selection.  Option sheets will be sent home for parental approval.

GRADE 8-9 COURSE SELECTION PRESENTATION

Grade 8 students took part in a brief presentation aimed at introducing them to high school life at North Addington and the course selection process.  Students were given an option sheet, course calendar and copy of the presentation.  

 

Course selection will take place on February 2-3, 2016 where Grade 8 students will have individual meetings with a Guidance Teacher to go over course selection.
